Frome Fairisle Sock

We have just received our new batch of Frome fairisle socks from our knitter in the Scottish Highlands. As before, they have been knitted in a very soft Falklands Corriedale wool , but this time we have added some brown fibre so that we have ended up with a light oatmeal/grey yarn. Some of this we have left un-dyed and the rest has been dyed for us in Yorkshire. The darker fibres add depth to the yarns. The sock is knitted with 30% polyamide for stretch and durability.
The Frome Fairisle is a slightly longer dress sock with a plain knitted heel and toe and a plain ribbed cuff. The sizing is different to most of our other socks. The small which is a shoe size 4-7 has a leg length of 23cm or 9″. The medium size fits shoe sizes 7.5-9.5 and the large, shoe sizes 10-12. Both these sizes have a leg length of 26cm or 10″.

The traditional fairisle motifs knitted in seven original colour combinations of greys, creams, madder, olive, khaki brown and blues. The Madder, Kent Blue, Olive and Gold colourways all have dark grey heel, cuff and toe. The Khaki, Blues and Blue Madder colourways have a mid grey heel, cuff and toe. The new colourways of Gold stripe, Kent stripe, Olive stripe, Rose stripe, Orange stripe and Rose & Orange stripe are based on the oatmeal yarn.
- Kent Stripe has a brown heel and cuff with Kent blue, orange and oatmeal motifs
- Rose Stripe has a mid grey heel and cuff with rose, oatmeal and Kent blue motifs
- Rose & Orange Stripe has an olive heel and cuff with rose, orange and oatmeal motifs
- Orange Stripe has an oatmeal heel and cuff with orange, brown and grey motifs
- Olive Stripe has a mid grey heel and cuff with orange, olive and oatmeal motifs
- Gold Stripe has has an oatmeal heel and cuff with Leven blue, rose and gold motifs

A traditional Argyle wool sock for men and women, knitted in the UK. Like the Frome Fairisle, the Arbon Argyle is knitted in a very soft Falklands Corriedale wool with 25% nylon for stretch and durability.
The traditional Argyle sock pattern is knitted in three different colour combinations of greys, cream, olive, khaki brown, sky blue and pink. The sky blue colourway has diamonds of cream and pink with dark grey overcheck (the lines through the diamonds). The Dark Grey colourway has diamonds of Khaki brown and Olive with a Sky blue overcheck. The Cream colourway has diamonds of light and mid grey with a madder red overcheck.
The socks come in three main sizes: small which is a shoe size 5-7, medium size which fits shoe sizes 8 to 10 and the large for shoe sizes 11-13. We also have an extra small in the sky blue colourway for shoe sizes 3-4.
The yarn was spun and dyed and the socks knitted for us in the UK.

The Pencil Stripe Wool Sock is is a fine wool dress sock. This ankle length sock has a solid heel, toe and cuff, with a narrow contrast stripe. It's light enough to wear comfortably all year round. The sock is knitted from 60% Merino wool with 40% nylon for a comfortable fit. Buy three or more pairs for £10 per pair.
The Yorkshire Plain wool sock is a ribbed short sock, suitable for both men and women. The ribbing makes the sock appear narrower than it is. They are made from a blend of 82% Yorkshire Blue Faced Leicester wool with 9% UK alpaca knitted with 9% nylon for stretch and added durability.
