The Exmoor sock is a warm, comfy, loose-topped, ankle length socks for everyday wear. This is a unisex sock for everyday which is quite loosely knitted without a cushion sole so it’s not designed as a walking sock.
The Exmoor sock yarn is spun at a UK mill from Exmoor sheep and other British wool. British wool is an excellent fibre for socks as its ability to absorb moisture keeps feet warm and dry. The yarn is dyed in Yorkshire and then knitted to our specifications by a traditional, family run sock manufacturer in the UK Midlands. There are three unisex sizes, small (shoe size 4-7), medium (8-10) and large (11-13). We have also introduced an extra small (1-3) and an extra large size (13-14) in some of the colourways. The extra large are the same width as the large size, but the foot is longer. Similarly, the extra small is the same width as the small, but with a shorter foot length. We plan to have eight colourways available. Each sock has a main colour with contrast heel, toe and top band. We introduce new colours each year, but this sometimes means that we have some extra colourways as we knit up the yarn left from colours we are retiring. I have also knitted some new colourways in a natural grey version of my Exmoor yarn. It’s the same blend, with the addition of some dark Zwartbles fibre in the British wool. I have started over-dyeing this natural grey yarn as well. The colours tend to come out a bit darker than on the white yarn and some of the darker fibres still show, giving interest and depth to the fabric. I indicate which colourways are using the grey yarn.
Composition: 60% Exmoor Blueface wool / 25% British wool / 15% Nylon. The nylon content provides enough stretch to give a good fit.

Care Information
Our natural fibre, unisex socks are kinder to your feet than synthetic alternatives, but this means they need a gentle wash. We recommend our alpaca and wool socks are gently hand washed and rinsed in tepid water, squeezing gently rather than wringing. A vigorous machine wash (whatever the temperature) with too much detergent or long spin, may result in shrinkage.
Leave to dry naturally and do not put in a tumble dryer.
